A musically inclined pop-up with fun food, cool drinks, and a whole bunch of talented Canadian songwriters.

The Blue Jay Sessions began in summer 2019 as a celebration of Canadian music, bringing artists from across the country together in a series of intimate songwriters’ rounds where songs, stories, food, drinks and good times are shared.

Our sessions draw inspiration from traditional Nashville-style songwriters circles, breaking down barriers between the music, the songwriters, and the fans. Each song is stripped down to its rawest form and each performance reveals the story behind the music.

At every Blue Jay Session, the music is paired with a creative food and drink menus for an especially memorable experience.

When we’re not hosting our live sessions, we’re busy working on other fun projects, like recording a collective cover of iconic Canadian tunes Both Sides Now and Sitting on Top of the World featuring an ensemble of Canada’s top musical talent.

Our regular sessions are based in Calgary, Alberta at The Prairie Emporium, but we do like taking the show on the road every now and then!

The Blue Jay Sessions are a one-of-a-kind live music experience, and every session is different. We set the stage, but it’s the talented performers and the songs that make each night magical.
